Day 6 at Techtop Workshop
Today is the final day of “making” in the Techtop Workshop. Today everyone in all tracks is finishing their products and preparing to present it to the whole group of us.
Our group finished coding the temperature sensor to read the temperature and also added the SMS code to send the SMS when the temperature was out of the necessary range for vaccines (using SMS Gateway Hub and JavaScript and HTML). We tested that our product worked using room temperature and slightly modifying the code to send an SMS if it was over 30 degrees Celsius. It works!
We created a sample container out of styrofoam and pink construction with a lot of Fevicol. We attached our sensor and wifi module to the sample container (as we intend this to happen if our product was a real thing). We put the wifi module and wires in a small box and then put the temperature sensor inside while the box with the module stayed outside. We connected together the sensor and module together by using female head wires instead of the big breadboard for ease and compactness.
Finally we tested the product to verify that it in fact works.
We also prepared the presentation so that we can present our product to the whole group tomorrow. [link]
